A lack of good manners among children is a growing problem in the classroom and on the playground (A Report to Parents, National Association of Elementary School Principals) .

Statistics show that children with good manners succeed more quickly in school.

Civility and manners are as important today as they ever were and we are often judged by something as simple as how we hold our fork to the strength of our handshake.  Many families struggle to find time at the dinner table together- the place where most dining etiquette would be taught.

We have seen a serious decline in social skills and basic manners among all ages of our society.  Families are on the run to meetings, sports events, office and travel with little time to focus on proper manners or family time at the dinner table.

Technology has promoted less “face to face interaction” and  ”hand-written communication”. Many teens and young adults are obsessed with hand-held electronics, online social networks and incessant texting.  Without formal training, they will struggle with the ability to properly communicate, nail the interview or pass the business lunch test.  Writing a proper “Thank You Note” for an employment interview will be alien to them and a “limp-fish handshake” could kill the deal!

The rural and quiet setting for most classes is Villa La Rocca, a private residence nestled in the northeast foothills of San Diego County.  The Magnolia School of Etiquette and Protocol is based in San Diego, CA, offering classes, camps, and seminars in surrounding areas including Temecula,  Fallbrook, Murrieta and various other local cities.
